Cream of Broccoli Soup for Ju

Ingredients:
2 cans chicken broth
4 cups half and half
2 bags broccoli florets
1 onion
5 Tbl butter
4 Tbl flour
2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Instructions:
In pot, combine chicken broth, chopped onion and 1 1/2 bags of broccoli (set remaining 1/2 aside to add at the end). Bring to simmer and cook til veggies are tender. Drain broth (do not throw away) and set aside. In blender, blend broccoli and onions (kind of chunky) and set aside. In pot melt butter. Add flour and stir til lumps are gone. Add remaining broth, half and half, salt and pepper. Then add blended and reserved broccoli. Heat through and enjoy!!

I love this soup! And it is super yummy if you buy bread bowls (or make them if you are crafty like that) and eat it that way. They have really cute pumpkin bread bowls during halloween/thanksgiving time at some grocery stores that are died orange and have little green tops! Or you can just eat the soup in a regular bowl if you are boring. Either way, its delish.

Looks who's back and busy in the kitchen! Im so jealous your living at the cabin, remember when we would make to die for grilled cheese.

Yes I do! And remember how I can't look at your blog because you didn't invite me?! Rude.

Since you and Rachel are taking a trip down memory lane, please tell me you remember forcing me to drain the master bath tub while your cabin was being finished, after the workers went tinkle inside. You and Brooke totally cornered me!

Oh this soup is so delish! totally to die for! -- I hope that sounded like all the losers on the food network who somehow think that people want to watch someone else cook something that you don't even get to eat afterwards... If people like watching cooking so much, why don't more people ask to sit next to the kitchen at restaurants??

OK enough of that rant. This soup is dang good, especially if you eat it in a nice soft bread bowl! I also love me some good tomato basil, so Liz, please post it so that Jill can cook it and I can eat it.

Jill, I think we all need to see some of the "glamor shots" that you made me take of you up at Sundance....

Nice try TFB. If by "made you take", you mean forced me to go along with you while you played photographer- then that makes more sense. And by "glamor shots", you mean pictures of me trying so hard not to laugh while you say "look off into the distance, and don't smile ok. This shot is going to look so sweet" then you would be right. They are totally glamor shots.

Liz, I would love to try your soup, and by the sounds of it TFB would too. So send that recipe my way when you get a chance!

Brit, It was my b-day! It was lots of fun and I am now 25. 1/2 way to 50. Kind of depressing.
